 
Mari's musical career started in her highschool youthgroup, when she first
picked up her mom's old nylon stringed guitar and taught herself to play it.
She has been playing at coffee houses and bars ever since, and holds her
reputation to this day, as an Open Mic junky : ) "Maribyrd" was a nickname bestowed
upon Hubley by an old room-mate, who used to listen to her singing and say
"little song-bird...awe, it's a Maribyrd." It was adopted as her stage name
while playing at The Science Fair 2001, a festival in PA where the band
shared the stage with WEEN. Mari still plays solo gigs here and there, she also
likes to team up with other local performers singing harmonies and trading tunes
"round robin" style. By day Mari is a 'faux-finisher'(ok...she's a glorified painter),
She also dabbles in snowboarding(a.k.a. falling), mountain biking,(a.k.a. falling),
and kayaking(a.k.a. swimming)
